39-year-old Brazilian veteran Thiago Silva is expected to leave Chelsea on the current season
According to the Mirror, 39-year-old Brazilian veteran Thiago Silva is expected to leave Chelsea on a free transfer after the end of the current season.
He joined the Blues in the summer of 2020 and won the Champions League under Tuchel's leadership. However, Chelsea has not engaged in any formal contract renewal negotiations with him so far. There are reports suggesting that unless there is a significant turnaround, Silva is prepared to leave on a free transfer once his current contract expires. It is well known that his former club, Fluminense, has been making relentless efforts to bring back the former Paris Saint-Germain captain.
Fluminense's president, Mario, revealed earlier this week that he is still in close contact with the experienced Brazilian international and made it clear that Fluminense is always open to welcoming him back to the team.
