Slott: Alisson may need a few weeks to recover
Alisson and Alexis Mac Allister both left the pitch due to injuries during Liverpool’s 1-0 away win against Crystal Palace in Premier League Round 7. Head coach Slott provided updates on the two players in the post-match press conference.
Slott first spoke about Alisson's situation: "We don’t have the latest updates yet, but we know that when a player leaves the pitch the way he did, it usually means he won’t be available for the Brazil squad, and I also expect he won’t be able to play in our first game after the international break (home against Chelsea). We’ll have to wait and see, but I think he may need a few weeks to recover. I believe it’s a hamstring injury."
Regarding Mac Allister, Slott said: "He also left the match due to injury, but it’s hard to assess the severity right now. He could have continued playing, as you saw, because he wasn’t injured in the last second before halftime, but he was in too much pain. He said he thought it wouldn’t be good to keep playing, as you never know if it will make the injury worse. As for his current condition, whether he can go to Argentina or play there, I can’t tell you yet. What I can tell you is that it’s a groin issue."
