Laporte is willing to take a pay cut to return to Europe
According to reports from Cadena SER, Real Madrid is considering Aymeric Laporte as an option to strengthen their defense. The Spanish international, currently playing for Al Nassr, is also willing to take a pay cut to return to Europe.
Laporte, now 30, transferred from Manchester City to Al Nassr last summer for €27.5 million. Despite spending a year away from Europe's top leagues, Laporte performed excellently in the Euros this summer, ultimately helping the Spanish national team win the championship.
Cadena SER reports that Real Madrid sees Laporte as a potential defensive reinforcement. The player himself is willing to significantly reduce his salary to return to a top European league. However, Al Nassr poses an obstacle to the deal.
Laporte's current contract with Al Nassr runs until 2026, and his market value is currently estimated at €20 million on Transfermarkt.
