Grimaldo: I've heard of the term "Vizekusen"
In the Bundesliga showdown that ended early this morning, Bayer Leverkusen defeated Bayern Munich 3-0 at home, leading Bayern by 5 points in the standings. After the match, Leverkusen left-back Grimaldo spoke about the game.
The Leverkusen coaching staff maintained their usual modesty after the match. Midfielder Andrich stated, "This was a special game, and we showed what we wanted in the 90 minutes. It was a fantastic match, and the 3-0 scoreline was well-deserved. We all know the kind of energy Bayern brings to these matches." Head coach Alonso said after the match, "We focus on the next game." Leverkusen director Rolffes added, "We continue to focus on the next game, moving forward. We always maintain respect for our opponents."
Grimaldo, the Leverkusen left-back who has had an outstanding season, was asked if he was aware of the term "Vizekusen" (runner-up Leverkusen). Grimaldo replied, "I have heard that term before..." Leverkusen had previously finished as runners-up in three competitions in 2002, when Grimaldo was just 6 years old. Grimaldo added, "Perhaps this year we can become champions."
