Napoli is close to signing Benfica forward Neres

According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Napoli is on the verge of signing Benfica forward David Neres.

Romano reports that Napoli is close to finalizing the deal to sign Neres from Benfica, having submitted a formal offer to the Portuguese club and increased the bid. The agreement is now very close, with only final details left to be settled. Once completed, Neres will sign a four-year contract with Napoli, and the deal is expected to be finalized soon.

Benfica signed Neres from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2022 for €15.3 million. Last season, the Brazilian international made 35 appearances for Benfica, starting 21 times, and contributed 5 goals and 9 assists.
